Have you tried Steve Lawson's Goin' Postal email program for the DOS
based HP Palm computers? It works on a desktop too. It keeps your
mailbox(es) in concatenated files, including the outbox, IIRC. It
also can handle digests into single messages for reading/replying. If
space is a premium it can compress the mailbox(es) also. HTH.
