What can I say ?
Here is just another proof that newer and fatter is not better:

Last night I temporarily UPGRADED my P90 at home from DOS 6.20 to DOS 5.0.
Yes, I mean upgrade.<G>

My previous test with speedchk:
My P90 using DOS 6.2 30 sec create/copy, 41 total = 11 sec delete ***

My latest test with speedchk:
My P90 using DOS 5.0 30 sec create/copy, 31 total = 1 sec delete !!!!!

I returned to the Douglas Adams interview at slashdot.org,
http://slashdot.org/interviews/00/06/21/1217242.shtml and found it is still
8458 or 8464 atoms when downloaded.

My previous time on the P90 to reload that interview from cache (offline) by
using the back key from another URL was 3 mins 13 sec. 193 Seconds total.
My time using DOS 5.0 to reload from cache as above was 26 Seconds !!!!!

That's a 700% improvement. And my HD doesn't sound like a machine gun now.

Other benefits of DOS 5.0 include slightly more low memory available
and no nag screens on delete and copy over.

Anyone know where I can get DOS 3.31 ?? I find 3.30 lotsa places.

BTW, I checked the copies of speedchk left resident on the various HDs that
were tested yesterday and found them to be unREMMED.
i.e. the times are valid.
