Here are some more ideas for the FAQ, Pete. Unfortunately, I don't
have the answer to the first one, but I have an idea that it has been
mentioned at some time:

=======

   Q1: I've set 'Options: Preferences & Performance (Look & Feel)' to
       use seriously looking icons, but I still get the buttons with
       chips out of the edges. Why?

   A1: Er...

=======

   Q2: I set my modem speed in 'Manual TCP/IP Setup - Internal PPP' to
       115200 and I notice missing characters in the messages shown
       on the terminal screen, e.g., 'Conct 1520'. The log-in also
       fails. Why?

   A2: The modem is sending characters to the COM port faster than the
       PC can read them and some characters are therefore getting
       lost. You can select a slower speed, such as 38400,
       on the setup page. If this is too slow, the modem speed can be
       set to values in between those offered in 'Manual TCP/IP setup'
       if you modify it directly in ARACHNE.CFG. Look in the section
       headed [dialer] for the line beginning 'Speed ' and type in a
       valid COM port speed, for example 57600.
       A COM port fitted with a UART chip having a FIFO - usually chip
       type 16550 - can help with higher speeds.

=======

   All the best,

      Ron.
