I was among the 1st sending congrats to Michael on how much better Arachne seemed to be handling tables and frames and such in 1.64 ... And then I hit a couple of pages where the new way things are handled [much done in background, little else visible] is enough to drive me bonkers. For instance, one page uses a number of small graphics [more than should be allowed on any single page!] and each and every file is the same size, so it appears as if Arachne is in a loop getting nowhere, and rapidly. Food for thought ... When it comes to frames, at least, can Arachne be told to write each frame to screen as it is completed? That would, in many cases, allow access to the menu before the balance of the "main frame" [urg... IBM will get me for that] is rendered, and not leave the user helplessly watching precisely nothing except writing on the bottom of the screen change. l.d. -- Learn about B'FOR Join B'FOR - B'mothers For Open Records B'FOR www.b-for.org [Associate members of triad also welcome; membership confidential if desired.] -- Arachne V1.64, NON-COMMERCIAL copy, http://arachne.cz/
