  I use MS-DOS 6.20, '486, 133MHz, 32 Mb RAM, RAM disk for "temp".

A1.66 is the fastest version for me to date. Installed easy, found
modem, happily set up video (trident 1 Mb and VESA support) and all.

The two pages you mention load: 4 seconds each, empty cache.

                 Conf_PPP.htm 5 seconds from cache
                 Preferences 4 seconds from cache

I think there are more steps in loading from cache than just getting a
page from a hard disk, so this may explain the 5 second load, above.

Also:
FAQ suggestions.

Q. While setting up Arachne for the first time, Arachne failed to find
my modem. It is connected. What should I do ?

A. Turn the bloody thing on, first, otherwise Arachne can't see it.

and

Q. After I have set up Arachne with all the Wizards, why do I have so
little low DOS memory available ?

A. Exit to DOS, and then re-load Arachne. Your low DOS memory is still being
held by Wizard left-overs.
