I am getting happier with CUTE telnet, as I start using its scripting
capabilities. However, one feature of it and most telnet programs still
bothers me often: Its screen display behaviour is ``jerky''. A more
refined definition would have to do with how it refreshes the screen and/or
how it scroles. It is as if there is a pause sometimes, while a buffer
fills up and a sudden change of the screen to a next web page or whatever,
sudden enough to cause me to jerk or startle.

I notice that most telnet clients do not seem to handle screen updating
as nicely as terminal emulators on serial connections.

Anyone have any ideas about how to make CUTE telnet handle the screen
more ``smoothly''? I suspect that may have to do with adjusting those
mtu and mss and such values in wattcp that have to do with min and max
packet size sent over ppp. I dont sound very knowledgeable do I?
That is quite true in this area.

Thanks for any ideas,

howard
