For many of us Arachnoids, 1nol will make a nice plug-in replacement for
the old freewwweb. But I have to wonder about a couple of things, namely:

1. Is it legal?
2. How do they make their money?

FW expressly permitted the use of any software. Its only requirement, as
stated on its web site, was that you were supposed to make its home page
your start page.

(BTW that requirement was not enforced. I always use a local start page,
and only rarely checked in at fw . Maybe that's why it was ultimately
unsuccessful.)

But I have not seen any similar policy stated by 1nol. As far as I can
see, 1nol expects that everyone will use its 7-meg Winbloat monstrosity.
Presumably that software, like all the other free ISP proprietary Winbloat
software, will somehow show ads.

We know how to avoid that only because the "Wizard" looked at it and
figured out the right format for the login and password. But if everyone
does it our way, how long will 1nol stay in business?
