Ahem. Nothing is ever _exactly_ the same.
This week the problem changed places. A166 was fast A162 was slow !!
By accident, when I checked the altM popup I noticed A162 was using
*0* XMS memory and a BUNCH of xSwap ! I reran setup and the problem
was gone. Now A162 is fast and A166 is faster using 1608 and 1576kbs
respectively.
I don't know who selected swap to disk instead of XMS but it WASN'T me.
Not by any deliberate actual act of selection anyway. I'll keep an eye
open for future surprise changes to my xSwap location. It is strange
that both versions have been affected and it may just be finger trouble.
There was another report by someone else of a similar effect last week.
