A166 installed *beutifully* on a friends 286SX-6. Runs faster than my
ailing 486SX-33. Modem auto-detect worked great (what a nice feature!).

Q: After correct setup, A166 dials, but doesn't connect. In PPP.LOG,
ATZ is followed by the ever infamous "weird characters". The
Telephone is plugged into the jack marked "to phone jack". What's
wrong?
A: This is what happens when the external part of an "external" modem is
missing!
It took 45 mins to figure this out <g> Dumpster diving? No; lawn sale..
