Remember Shatner's voice-over at the beginning of Star Trek (Original
Series):  "...to boldy go where no man has gone before."?  This is probably
the most famous split infinitive ever.  Proper useage would have been
"...to go boldly...."

Any verb which features "to" in front of it is an infinitive:  to drive, to
write, to fly, to walk, etc.  It's a definite no-no to stick an adverb
between "to" and its verb.
