Gloria, I would personally recommend 1.50b2 (not s.r.c) to a 1.44 user.
You may find that some of the search engines you are having trouble with
work in this version. It is really stable,
My next recommendation is 1.62 - although you will find MUCH has changed,
it seems quite stable and is noticeably better and faster than 1.50. There
are a few bits that are broken with respect to 1.50:
Email to multiple recipients, exit on hangup, and, I think, one more item.
Sorry, I can't remember what, and my local files don't go back far enough.
Version 1.66 is even better in most respects but there are a couple more
problem areas. Besides the above, file uploads seem to be a problem with
1.66, and you may not like the smaller text size.
I'm not sure WHY I use 1.62 more than 1.66, but it may just be that I haven't
had time to re-organize my HD. <G>

I never got to run 1.62 because new releases followed rather quickly, and so I
ended up with 1.66. I had trouble with

not with this page per se, but with the weather reports this page led to. These
weather reports were OK with 1.61, 1.50b2, 1.48 and 1.47, except for clumsy
scrolling. But with 1.66, I couldn't even access http://arachne.cz. So I
stopped using Arachne online pending the next release. Would 1.62 or 1.64 do
better than 1.66?
