Hello Roger:

I also have a copy of this version of UU en/de by Richard Marks.  This
program is buggy in that it fails to encode/decode some files properly
unless you use the option that provides for all of the UUENCODED text
to be produced in capital letters.  Try UUENCODING the program DR.COM
for example.  You will find that an encoded file is produced having a
period on a line by itself.  This will terminate an email transmission!
If you use the option for all caps, then you will not have this problem.

Other versions of UUENCODE/DECODE are also available from different authors
as a free download on various sites.
