Granted it checks if you press TAB, but I don't think that's much of an
overhead. I don't use that nor doskey.exe myself in DOS since I don't think
it would save me much time (especially since it often makes the basic
built-in methods in command.com unusable for me (F3 for instance)). But the
overhead isn't that bad (although I would like to have those KB free). The
best option IMHO would be if such a program was removed automatically when
you start a program and then reenabled afterwards.
