Edit was probably one of MS best creations.
However, edit.com users with 386s and above should use
Pedit (Program Editor) v4.0 at http://www.goldshell.com/pedit.
It is an excellent freeware editor which has the same look
and feel as MS edit but with other features :
   - Both, columns and lines can easily be marked, for alterations
     and/or deletions.
   - There's an undo function!
   - Indentation of source files can very easily be changed.
   - Position marking and jumping.
   - Word wrap.
   - Insert/append another file into the current file.
   - An integrated spelling checker and thesaurus.
