Well, I did, three times:
Disney once told me something like "In order to enhance the experience
of our users, we prefer to use the most advanced internet technology
availble to us. Please upgrade accordingly, in order to enjoy it as
well.". I replied to that too, and never received a reply. THeir
way of "joy" ment: IE5, Windows 98, Shockwave and Java.
Another time was when I sent to the german nintendo company.
I was seposed to find out some details about an old SNES.. when I
tried to get into the site, i discovered it was all totally shockwave.
I wrote, and they said "we will look into the matter.". Ofcourse,
they didnt do anything. :)
Last time was at the official System Shock 2 site.
I was finding out details about buying the game, and again I got
confronted with a totally "enhanced" site: shockwave, tons'O'frames,
javascript. Arachne crashed. Netscape just shown a blank "plug in
thingy goes here" icon. When I e-mailed the webmaster, he told
me that he hate that stuff too, and that his sites are not being
designed like this. However, he came after the System Shock 2 site
was designed, and its too late to change it. (The suits wouldnt like
it.)
