It is most probably a limitation that would apply to any mail program that automagically converts the text email messages to HTML. As we all know, this is a feature of Arachne's Insight email program. If using an email program such as NetMail, or Barebones, or Net-Tamer to read the messages, then there would be no problem in using HTML tags in the subject line.
