You get one point for finding the reasons (the URL for the background GIF) ;-)
cid: is (still) not implemented. I suggest that you don't load background
images when reading mail.
So how to solve this (and https and javascript)? I suggest that Arachne
should check to either see if the protocol is one that is allowed - or if
it's one of the three mentioned and then ignore it.
