Hello:
The latest issue of MS-News digest lists many recent uploads of freeware
and shareware DOS utilities now available from Simtel.Net
I am forwarding to several DOS user's list a few descriptions that I have
snipped out of the announcement. In the same announcement several more
new DOS programs were listed that I did not include.
This is very encouraging news, that there are still many new DOS
programs being developed.

cpindx23.zip CPUindex v2.3: Test CPU performance. Freeware
CPUindex v2.3 is a tool for testing the performance of a CPU. It's a
32-bit protected program which runs on DOS.
Special requirements: None.
Changes: Slightly increase test time to make more accurate result.
Eliminate the meaningless fraction part of result.
cpindx23.zip has replaced cpuidx22.zip.
Freeware. Uploaded by the author.

This version finds, identifies and (usually) removes over 50,100
viruses and Trojans.
This package only includes the DOS version of F-PROT. The program
F-STOPW is now only included with the windows version and the F-MACROW
program is distributed separately.

Moreutl8 is the Set Of More DOS Utilities v8.0a which works in MS-DOS
or Windows 95/98. These set of utilities contain programs and
documentation and examples for Copying, Renaming, Sorting, etc. These
utilities contain complete public domain Basic source code for PDS 7.1
or VB 1.0 Pro. There is no restriction on their usage or distribution.
All utilities also support standard piping and redirection allowing one
utility to stream output to another.
Special requirements: The utilities require 512K RAM and 2 MB disk
space.
Changes: Additional programming examples.
