Mel:

Your post makes me remember when I lived in your magnificent city.

I was born in Argentina in 1948. I studied in an english (british)
school in Rosario, were I continue to live.
In 1972, with an electronic engineer title, I went to work for
one year with Hewlet Packard in South Queensferry.
We lived at 60 Pilrigh Str. Edingburg

My wife came with me, she was an english language teacher, she ended
working for The Scotsman.

The funny thing was that when we took our first train from London to
Edinburgh, we could not believe how many Russians were travelling in
the same train, we could not understand why they were so happy, we
could not understand what they were talking.

After one hour, we discovered that they were all scottish fans
returning from a rugby match against those poor english.

And as Spanish speakers, I can tell you that we loved how you
pronounced your english. We loved your city and your country.

Alec
