Hello All;

Compared to some I'm a relative newcomer to Arachne and this list.

Arachne has only very recently come to be the browser of choice for me
on this platform - the only platform I have with enough horsepower to
run it effectively - and a platform where I could just as easily run
Netscape but don't. My '486 at the office is a bit more challenged
so the situation is reversed - both are loaded, but only NS gets
the exercise.

I just want to say, for whatever it's worth, I've stayed with Arachne
mostly because of the list. If it hadn't existed I'm sure I would now
view Arachne much as I do Lynx - from a distance - interesting, but
only worth an occasional try once in a while to see if it is more
than a nice idea. Just like TSX.

But the list makes the difference for me. I enjoy the generosity and
good humor demonstrated daily by the participants. Some are truly
exceptional in their dedication and positive attitude to the cause.
One individual has contributed more than enough positive feedback
to make up for the sum of all the occasional negative vibes of the
rest. We all know who that person is, and we also know that geniuses
can make mistakes or have a bad day too.

In my slightly newbie opinion, I think we can easily tolerate the
50-50 ratio of OT to Arachne stuff on the list needed just to keep
us awake, and any half-baked idea that might touch on Arachne should
be welcome as belonging in the On Topic category, even if there is a
slight chance that it might generate false hope. <g>

Read that any way you want to.
