Dear Arachne Listers
I give up! It does not appear that Arachne will work with my new
computer.
Yesterday, I installed ver 1.66 on my old computer without
problem and logged on to my ISP with PAP/CHAP. This verifies that
there is nothing wrong with my installation setup and no amount
of tinkering with script or arachne.cfg will be of any help. I
even made config.sys and autoexec the same on my new computer the same as
on the old. It seems that there is something incompatible with the
new computer hardware that I am unable to identify.
The header for arachne.cfg indicates that it was tested with a
K5/133. Perhaps it just won't work with a K6. I don't know.
Anyway thanks again to all of you that offered advice and
suggestion. Your input was much appreciated.
Perhaps I will try again when there is a new version.
