Hi; Ron;
I just tried this with Arachne 1.66:

Dial and connect. (altD) (EPPPD loaded low)
altX (got message type arachne -u to hangup,
                            or arachne -r to return to www)
Typed ARACHNE -r (went to Arachne chat)
altX                       (same messages)
Popped up my editor in DOS and examined arachne.bat. Noted that it will
default to arachne -r if it finds a PPP.log and NO command line param.
Checked to see if there was a ppp.log. (yes)
Typed arachne (still online - went to arachne home)
Selected altH to hangup.

So, the questions: Do you hangup on exit ? Do you perform any operations
that might interfere with your modem or EPPPD ? Do you use a lowercase "r" ?
Do you have a PPP.log ? Do you (re)call Arachne by another batch file ?
If so, do you use: Call arachne %1 %2 ?

Do you have any trouble if you just shell to DOS while online ?
