I have implemented HTTP/1.0 "Connection: keep-alive" and I have also
slightly optimized cache search algorithm (because I couldn't stand
Bernie's criticism ;-)
I have slightly improved page load times in Arachne v1.68 for DOS.
>From network (via proxy) with empty Arachne cache (almost instant
connection, 1.5 Mbps Breezenet line), including generation of virtual
screens and conversion of JPEGs and PNGs:
arachne.cz: 11 sec
slashdot.org: 14 sec
yahoo.com: 4 sec
Page load times from cache probably cannot be much improved (unless
caching of de-compressed GIFs is implemented, or something like that).
