Hi LD;
I don't know if you can access your account this way, but I use Lynx, and
either Lynx or Apache understands the "M" command when you have highlighted
a file name.
Typing "M" gets me the dialogue "Modify Name, Location, or Permission"
Typing "p" gets a permission modification screen.
Just make your private files unreadable by group or users.
