You grab the appropriate EPROM, place it in a socket, and apply voltage
appropriately including write voltage (but with NOT(write enable) tied
high (1), of course). Tie the address lines low (0). Jumper the data
lines appropriately. Tap the /WE line with a ground wire. Tie address
one high, jumper data for next instruction, tap /WE again. You get the
rest.

I've done this.

Now, someone's gonna think of taking this a step further and suggest
that TRUE programmers would just design the software by choosing the
right, fixed logic gates to accomplish the required functions. Remember
that the EE needs something to do, too.

Just pray that it's not a TRUE EE. A TRUE EE would...
