I've had a heck of a time getting this message out. First, my Trumpet winsock is doing what it always does every 45 days. Pretending to work but refusing to work PROPERLY. I don't have time right now to re-install it. :( Second, my Quarterdeck winsock is doing what it always does every day. Working perfectly except 9 out of 10 times it won't SEND mail. Third, I took a copy of my NS outbox home to send with Arachne and spelled the word arache in the TO line wrong so it got returned today. The only thing I see that can have any bearing on the problem in my view is the Cache2TEMP Yes line above. Without making any changes, type SET<enter> and see if there is an entry for ARACHNETEMP. Then see if the temp dir specified exists. I know you said you did this before, but this is an new install. This may possibly affect A1.67/8 differently from other versions as it was modified to handle TEMP in a safe manner so this could account for your new problem of not being able to surf anymore. You can't even surf your HD ? BTW, you also have Autologin set to No. Do you manually enter your name and password, or do you go direct to PPP and hope the login authorization is conducted under PPP ?
