One feature of Arachne, not well documented but a feature nonetheless, which I like[d??] was that there was a TEXTAREA.TMP file. What purpose did it serve? Well, if you've ever sent web-based mail, and wanted to keep a copy of what you said, you could save TEXTAREA.TMP because that was what you just wrote. The file also allowed for recovery from things like hitting the wrong hot key and losing 500 carefully chosen words. Now it appears that 1.69 doesn't have TEXTAREA.TMP any longer. I tried to load it into message body, and something flashed on the screen -- but nothing stayed. Tried again, flash, nothing stayed. So I shelled out and called up NC to find TEXTAREA.TMP ... it wasn't in the main Arachne directory, and wasnt' in ARACHNE.TMP directory. It simply wasn't. TEXTAREA.TXT *also* wasn't in the main directory. I don't know if it is now [I saved something to it] ... yeah, it was. Please, is there some way we can have our "parachute" back? Or a new something created? Both being able to recover from accidental hot key use, and being able to save what is written in a web-based form textarea are things that are more or less necessary, and VERY desireable. l.d. -- Join B'FOR - B'mothers For Open Records <a href=" http://www.b-for.org "> B'FOR web site</A> [Associate members of triad also welcome; membership confidential.] Every member counts!
