SMTP Authentication is something that the Winbloat email clients do, but
the DOS ones (that I'm aware of) don't.
MailAndNews.com claims to require SMTP Authentication, but I've found that
it doesn't always enforce that, and sometimes accepts msgs sent with
Arachne.
There's another free email service I have tried recently called
"pop3free.com". Unlike some of the others, it is not web-based at all:
You must access it with pop3/smtp client software. Haven't tried it with
Arachne, but works great with Minuet. They reserve the right to send one
advertising email per week, but so far I haven't received any.
Meanwhile, to solve your immediate problem with myrealbox:
Use myrealbox as your "POP3server", but use your ISP's smtp host as your
"smtpserver".
