Thank you, list, for all those explanations on modem speed.
I will not pretend that I have understood everything, but it is
becoming clearer. Now, after this lesson I changed the modem
speed in arachne.cfg to 56800. Modem dialled, but in the end it was
not able to log in to the server. When I controlled the modem setup
at the wizard I realized that no checkbox for speed was selected.
1. Is it true that Arachne expects in the configuration file only
selected values and other values are ignored?
2. If so then I propose to insert a commented line in
arachne.cfg that indicates which values are legal.
