Hi Gangue,

Two problems/queries.

1) I've loaded 169 into a separate directory. The load is fine, and the
ppp wizard takes in all the info and puts it in the right places, and
there is a connect and surf and e-mail facilities FIRST TIME!

This is absolutely superb compared with earlier versions of Arachne
that took days to get set up.

BUT, can anyone tell me why the wizard assumes I am running a 386 PC
when in actual fact this machine is a Pentium 233? I am sure that the
last installs I did (previous versions) recognised the machine used and
did the arachne.cfg file for a 486 and above.

2) The "illegal xswap" definitely takes place when I try to use the
standard asf for send and receive mail, the pop3/smtp one! This produce
an xswap error message for line 1652 (I think it is) and totally locks
the machine into Arachne with a loop of some kind.

Somebody posted a "cure" for that, I think it was Clarence, could you
post again please so I can try it [I deleted the fix by mistake, sorry]

Regards

Mel
