LD, originally TEMP was added to Arachne to provide some speedup with
frequently used stuff being held in TEMP which was/IS supposed to be on
a RAMDISK. Any other location was/IS totally pointless.
Some file deletion was builtin to keep the size from getting out of control.
Total file deletion was NEVER in it as far as *I* know so I don't know how
those twits managed to delete their \DOS directories. Deletion is SUPPOSED
to be by evaporation of the RAMSDISK.
I posted once that I had switched \ARACHNETEMP to HD to get some idea of the
transient size required and forgot to switch it back. This resulted in my
103Mb partition being completely filled with some ridiculous number (28Mb-
48Mb I think) being in ARACHNETEMP.
So, this is a partial answer to your question. What command sequence was
used to wipe \DOS and with what version of Arachne is beyond my ken.
