I should clarify, now that I have seen what the checkerboard is SUPPOSED
to look like. It might be random and it might be something else, but I
just viewed it on my 20Mhz '386 in 640x480x16 colors and the BG color
was WHITE and half of the squares were BLACK and there are little "x"s and
big "Y"s.
Last night, in all possible VGA modes, the BG color was GREY (my HTML BG)
and the entire checkerboard was GREY and the "x" and "y" s were the same
size.
This might be some side effect of the twitchy BGcolor that has been
reported by myself and others.
