Hi Zach and all,

just for fun I created a directory and put in the following things:

Volume in drive E is DISK1_VOL3
 Directory of E:\HILF

. <DIR> 3.02.01 14:10
.. <DIR> 3.02.01 14:10
RAR CFG 361 8.04.00 20:31
RAR EXE 102989 2.10.98 13:09
EMM386 EXE 179585 27.02.97 7:01
VDISK SYS 4078 27.02.97 7:01
MOUSE COM 14834 25.11.93 6:00
COMMAND COM 55077 27.02.97 7:01
AUTOEXEC BAT 496 25.12.00 13:32
CONFIG SYS 443 28.01.01 14:16
ARACHNE RAR 859751 3.02.01 14:17
       12 File(s) 461324288 bytes free

(files taken from OpenDOS 7.01)

These are 1217614 bytes, leaving about 200 kB free for the PCMCIA
drivers on a 1.44 floppy. Arachne.rar contains contents of my Arachne
directory excluding examples, docs, cache and mail directories. It
seems, that all will fit on a single floppy.
