Hi Gangue, and BERNIE
That xswap thing is still around, and Bernie, you asked what needs to be
fixed!
This is definitely one thing that needs fixing in the download. There
are over 130 people each week accessing my (badly needing updated)
arachne4dos pages here in the UK.
I suspect quite a few will try to download and use arachne. I get about
four requests each week for PPP help which I solve without too much
trouble.
The xswap thing that comes up after trying an asf script is a different
thing altogether. Most people are now used to the "Get all mail/Send all
mail" type of command. The lack of a correctly working asf script in
arachne very much needs to be fixed for these people. The example script
needs to be re-written so that a newbie can easily follow it to get his
own mail up and down without problems, and whatever ISP he is using.
What is needed is:-
pop3
smtp
and back to inbox
without an xswap error message.
Then we need an example of two different accounts with one ISP:-
pop3 account 1 ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
pop3 account 2 ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
smtp 1
smtp 2
back to inbox 1
Then we need an example of two account and two ISP's:-
pop3 account 1 ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
pop3 account 2 ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
(although I remeber this was a hard one for arachne?)
and so on.
Over to you Bernie or some of the other gurus!
Regards
Mel
