  I'd already looked at the zbm, but thanks just the same...  ;-)

  Have you complained to angelfire.lycos?  If you want to be extra 
helpful, you can inform them the file they're looking for is 
mime.types, and all they need to do is add this line to it:

image/png                       png

  Actually, I'm surprised it's not already there.  Apache 1.3.9
is certainly more recent than the use of pngs.  Have they maybe
disabled it on purpose???  I can't imagine a reason for doing so,
but I also can't imagine 1.3.9 didn't defaultly provide for them.
