I agree that the sending of test mails to a mailing list will usually do
more harm than good. My case is unusual. The problem is that I can't
even get my smtp server to accept any message prepared by Arachne and
addressed to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]". I always get the "Mail upload aborted"
error. This should not happen. If the list were down my smtp server
should accept the message, and the message should fly out of my outbox, and
I should later receive a notice from my ISPs mailer daemon informing me
that the message is returned because it could not be delivered for some
reason. I don't know why it is that when I attempt to use Arachne to send
a message to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" I will always get the
"Mail upload aborted" page. If I send the message with Nettamer the smtp
server accepts it and the message will fly from my outbox. BTW, it does
appear that the SurvPC List is indeed down. I haven't received a digest
from this list since Feb 7th. Normally the subscribers to this list get at
least one digest per day.

BTW, in searching my mail archive folder for my last message from the
SurvPC List I noticed that Arachne will now correctly sort the archive
folder by "address". This sort feature did not work with version 1.66.
This bug has now been fixed. Thanks, Michael!

All the best,

Sam Heywood
