Hi LD;
I think there would be quite a bit of unsatisfactory bloat added to Arachne
if she had to peek inside files to decide what they were - not to mention
the obvious negative impact on speed.
Re: ZIPs, the letters PK are in first few bytes, and re: ZBMs, those PK
letters will be found, followed a few bytes later by a filename ending
in .BMP.
But maybe we should stick to fixing Arachne's own bugs before trying to get
around the mistakes of others ? <G>
