Yes, of course. You could either quit Arachne without hanging up, or you
could just shell out and run the other apps. In the case of many apps
you will need a file named PATH.CFG that is applicable to your current
connection and you will need a WATTCP.CFG file. The batch file I posted
will provide for all of this. The problem with quitting Arachne without
hanging up is that quitting (ALT X) will delete IP-UP.BAT, a file that is
needed to produce PATH.CFG. If you simply shell out (ALT E), then
IP-UP.BAT will still be there. One thing you could do would be to first
shell out and then run a batch file to create PATH.CFG. Then you could
type "EXIT" to re-enter Arachne. Next you could quit Arachne by ALT X
and elect not to hang up. Then you could go run your other apps over
Arachne's connection. That is another way of doing it.
