Yes, I have observed the same.  It works for me too.  I don't know of 
a WATTCP internet app. where this technique will not work.

I will avoid using this technique because some envronmental variables 
will have a very ephemeral and temporary existence.  You can easily
lose the values set for these environmental variables by shelling out
to DOS.
