excerpt from Mel Evans:

I waited till to-day so's you know I'm not flaming back! GRIN!

Cyclists? Scumm of the earth! responsible for more accidents than
tongue can tell. And sanctimonious false prophets of the so-called
green movement.

i My cycling to work will help save the world! I will not use fossil
fuels BUT I will slow down every motorist on the road behind me,
thus forcing said responsible, licensed, tax-paying, drivers into
using their vehicles in the least efficient mode (low gears, high
emissions, etc etc) and thereby actually causing more pollution then
if they had taken their cars to work.
(snip)

I don't want to create a monster-long message, but bicyclists just want their
space, they don't really want to impede motorists. Bicyclists should be able to
travel too. It is the road designers' fault for not allowing bicyclists fair
space, and not allowing fair walking space on the roadsides where sidewalks are
absent, as is a problem in much of the U.S.A. I thought Europe was better in
this regard, didn't realize the UK was as bad as the USA for squeezing
bicyclists and walkers off the road. Or is it not really so bad for walkers in
the UK?
