 I always use Vscreens (with a setting of 5000).
And yes, I have seen the symptom you mention. It happens when the sceen
is larger than 5000 lines.
Solution:
Alt+E and manually set vScreen to 10000 lines.
"exit" the dos-shell and (most times ), the Vscreen will now be generated.

I say "most times" because some screens I've run across are so large
that even 25000 still would not generat a Vscreen.

In those cases, the only alternative was to break the page down into
several smaller pages.
Case-in-point....
