I am trying to run Arachne on a 333 Pentium machine running DOS 6.22. This machine has a touch screen and mouse capabilities. The mouse works fine, but when I try to use the touch screen I have some problems. For example if the pointer is in the upper left corner of the screen when I first start Arachne and I touch in the middle of the screen the pointer does not jump to the point underneath my finger. If I drag my finger all the way to the right of the screen the pointer will move to the right, but it ends up about in the middle of the screen. If I drag my finger all the way back to the left then the pointer stops at the edge and ends up underneath (or close to underneath) my finger. If I drag right again the pointer follows close to my finger all the way across. If the pointer would just jump to underneath my finger on an initial touch I think everything would be alright. When I run the Arachne setup.bat and select XMS and VGA, the Pointer is right under my finger all the time. But when I press the button to "Try selected Graphics Mode" I get an error message "Unable to initialize video mode - Please run setup.bat". Has anyone else tried using a touch screen with Arachne before? I am using the Touch Base drivers (www.touch-base.com). Any help would be appreciated.
