Dear List:
Like L.D. I noticed these apparently unusual "files" with little
or no byte space in Arachne version 1.68, but I mostly agree with the
others that say they are of little consequence. Michael has not dis-
cussed security issue for awhile, I think, because it is so complex.
I think he did this or maybe some other things to make Arachne more
safe than before. Why rush Michael?? An OS prob is as I see it, a user
problem. Those that want a high-end OS can get it several ways.
Maybe my view and not others is that the most accepted Linux in the
business world is Red Hat Linux. It fits the definition of "bloat"
of several people on the List. And even it is not commonly accepted
by many business users. So regardless of the design of Linux, it is
still basically an "out" OS for the business world. I think this gen-
eral statement is true even for areas far away from Microsoft's home
area where I live. It is true, I have no time for downloading very
latest Arachne packages, experimental or not.
Yours,
Thomas Tabler
