Curtis,
I'm not sure if the "click to highlight" actually will work both ways,
or at all. Instead I recommend that you use the "clipboard" that's
built into Arachne.
Go anywhere on the e-mail address you want to copy, and hit CTRL-C.
Down on the very bottom line of Arachne you will see something like
"block written" appear. Then go to whatever line you want the e-mail
address on, and hit CTRL-V. It should write for you just fine.
Remember that, if you are saving an e-dress from the To line to the
address list, you must save the updated file using CTRL-W and putting
the file name e-dress.txt in the line provided, then hit Enter and the
updated list is saved.
If you want to send a message to a number of people, you can copy the
e-mail addresses one at a time to the TO line, but have a comma and a
space after each one before you put the next one in. You can do the
same in the Cc line and the Bcc line if you want/need to.
However, if you routinely send to a certain group of people, you should
consider making up a mailing list and then you would only have to put
the name of the list in the To field; it would go to everyone on the
list, but wouldn't list everyone for each recipient to see. And it's
less prone to mistakes.
As for the quotation marks around the "nick name" or real name or
whatever, someone else may step in an clarify that more than I can. "Way
back when" it was required by some software that if the name were more
than one word it had to be in quotes; but with Arachne and the modern
e-mail software, I've found I can send either way. A good rule to
follow is if the person who sent you mail has the quotes around the
"name" you should leave them; if they don't have quotes around the name,
don't worry about them.
Hope that does it ... if you have more problems, drop me a line off the
list and I'll try to help in more detail.
