      Thank you, too, for your comments.
 
      I feel like a million bucks now, that someone else
      has experienced this problem.  Being the only person
      with a problem in Arachne is lonlier than being
      the Maytag repairman (sorry to those of you not
      living in North America, where the Maytag repairman
      resides).
 
      I will be trying all the suggestions ... one by one ...
      until this problem is corrected.
 
      Yes, I've placed the addressee  FILEs both in the
      Arachne main directory, and outside the main directory.
      During the 6 months of successful use of   @FILEs
      I had all 80 or 90 address lists in   @\names\FILE.
      And it worked super.
  
      I will persist.
 
      Yes, if your "subconscious" kicks in, do let me know
      what caused the same error for you.
