Dear List:
This stuff about 'secure' plug-ins for Arachne is good. I tried to
use the Dos Lynx386 browser to accesse and had some success the first
go round. But later I had more problems. An error page said no HTML
page was returned. Those at Earthlink are freezing out us DOS users
by preferring Windows browsers. However, I will try again to use Lynx
from time to time. I wonder what the results will be. My version of
Lynx has the OpenSSL code hard-wired into it. And this is the result
of a preference, it appears, for Windows 95 with Earthlink technical
support team. I have not looked into alternate "schemes" to get
HTTPS access. If the secure server requires HTML, then how can plain-
text DOS browsers compete?
Yours,
Thomas Tabler
