I was going to comment the first time around but there were just too many
alligators flippin around my office at the time. <g>
Generally speaking, we are well know for maintaining a low profile, but
that doesn't necessarily mean we are all shy and/or retiring. You are
quite right, Sam, when you say the above seems to be only important to
Canadians. In NORMAL trans-border communications the fact that those
mentioned were Canadians would probably not have been mentioned.
Modesty usually demands we not flaunt this talent stuff in our neighbor's
face but doesn't prevent us from feeling free to acknowledge it among
ourselves. ;-)
Due to the international nature of this forum, we have each come to accept
the others as one of our own - so you were granted honarary Canadian status
and thus included in the sharing of: Hey! She is one of OURS ! <GG>
I saw that you agree it's reasonable for us to acclaim those who hit
the "big" time, I'm just trying to explain why:
a) It seems to matter to us when one of our 22 million gets noticed among
the 240 million in English speaking North America (oops. I better reduce
our count by 6 million <g>) - just kidding Celine, and Captain Kirk ! <g>
b) We might feel compelled to shout it out here.:)
