Oops, you found me out :-). I actually like arachne/dos a lot & dos programs make a
very nice fit with OS/2, including the y2k stuff folks lied/cried about. You know,
all those
'obsolete' things like WordPerfect 5.1/6, dBaseIII/IV, Paradox for dos, Quattro Pro
(lost
my old VisiCalc program), & my trusty programmers editor, Vedit+.
All computers crash sooner or later, and it is very nice to be able to boot to a dos
partition or off floppies, run the low level diagnostics, load arachne & get drivers
from
the 'net, and do backup/restores with something like Drive Image & Partition Magic.
For some reason I just feel more comfortable closer to the hardware.
