Sergio,
Richard told you the steps to take to free up memory...
Now, how to find out how much memory you have available when Arachne
is running...??...before you try to dial and go online....???
1. Start/Run Arachne so that you arrive at the "Dialup" screen.
2. Press ALT-key plus M-key at the same time. A little box will pop
up in the bottom right corner of your screen.
3. Read "DOS Memory (KB)" at the top of this little pop-up screen.
4. You need to get about 140 free BEFORE you try to dialup with
Arachne.
Mostly, to get more free memory, you need to stop loading all those
DEVICE drivers (CDROM, etc) while you are running Arachne. Richard
told you how to do that, and we can help you more.
Yes..you need to save your original AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS
as AUTOEXEC.ORG (or .BAK) and CONFIG.ORG (or .BAK) before you go in
and edit them.
