than it had to actually be something like name.gif.exe
(this makes use of the DUMB windows default setting not to show known file
extensions. so .gif.exe will become .gif with an .exe icon befor the name)
if it were an exe renamed to gif even windows would not run it !

it's the same with linux, *BSD, HP-UX, AIX. Solaris, .......
only windows can be corrupted by windows 'viruses' (most of these 'viruses'
are either trojan horses or worms)
